Welcome to Project Touch!
We are a 501 (c) 3 non-profit initiative to help financially disadvantaged autistic children. Today, 1 in 88 children live with autism and it is the fastest growing developmental disorder in the United States. There is no medical cure for autism, but current scientific research has demonstrated that technology, especially touch sensitive devices, is extremely effective in improving the lives of children with autism. In 2011, we partnered with Autism Speaks, a national organization, to implement Project Touch. With their help in identifying the financially needy, we donated 50 iPod Touch units to autistic children in Virginia. Now, we're looking to give away iPads to financially disadvantaged autistic children nationally and globally, and we would love your help!
